Send it up here so I can hold it for a while.
When I was about 11 or 12, Grandpa took a few of us to the bank to withdraw some cash so he could buy a brown Cadillac. As I recall, he handed me $3000 in $20 bills and said, "Here, hold this. It's probably the most money you'll ever hold in your hand at once for the rest of your life."
I remember believing him.
Now I realize, he was either incredibly short-sighted or he had no faith in my potential as a working man and my future earning power. Looking back, I see now that as he gazed upon my bowl cut, knee-high socks, John Stockton shorts, Michael Jackson t-shirt, and 2 inch gap between my front teeth, he probably honestly thought he was foretelling my economic future.
I once rolled naked in my life's earnings. I was about ll years old, and it was 21 dollars. Good times.

The most I have ever held was something like $3,500. Bobbie says she held about 2k. We recently discovered that the average ground soldier is equipped with about $17,500 worth of gear. We have in our tiny little apartment a little more than that. Sweet!
